Accessibility
What we aim for
We want everyone to be able to use this site, whatever their abilities and however they browse. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced by accessibility law in the United States and Canada.
Where we currently stand
The site was audited on 29 September 2026 using axe-core 4.13.0 against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 at Levels A and AA, alongside manual checks. That audit reports no automated violations.
What that testing covers, and what we fixed as a result:
- Every image has a text alternative
- Every form field has a label that is correctly associated with it, and announces its purpose and its consent terms to a screen reader
- Text meets or exceeds the required contrast, with the body text at roughly 12:1 against its background — well beyond the 4.5:1 minimum
- The whole site can be operated from a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator throughout
- A skip link lets keyboard users bypass the chapter navigation
- Interactive targets meet the 24×24 pixel minimum
- The page respects your system's reduced-motion setting: if you have asked your device to reduce motion, the parallax and scroll effects switch off and only gentle fades remain
- The page declares its language, uses correct heading structure, and marks its landmarks
What we know is imperfect
Automated testing cannot check everything, and we would rather tell you what we are unsure about than claim more than we can support.
- The chapter navigation on the right of the home page. It uses a blending technique to stay visible over whatever photograph is behind it. Automated tools cannot measure its contrast, so we cannot state a figure for it with confidence. If it is hard to read for you, please tell us — every section it links to is also reachable by scrolling.
- Videos are hosted on YouTube and use YouTube's player, whose accessibility is outside our control. Captions depend on what is available for each video.
- We have not yet completed a full screen-reader pass across every combination of screen reader and browser, or testing at 400% zoom. These are planned.
We have deliberately not installed an accessibility overlay widget. Those products do not fix the underlying problems and can interfere with the assistive technology you already use. We fix the site itself instead.

We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days and will tell you what we can do and when. If something will take time to fix, we will offer another way to get what you needed in the meantime.
How we keep this true
We re-test when we change the site, and review this page at least every three months. It was last reviewed on the date at the top.
